SOGERI National High School students will soon get their notes electronically, new principal Packiam Arulappan says.
Arulappan announced this during the farewell function of the outgoing principal, Benny Rayappan.
He said they will put in K50,000 to make Sogeri a place of electronic learning, adding teachers will put all their notes in computers and students will download them on their mobile phones.
“This school will be known as an electronic school, paying special mention of the outgoing principal for his contribution to make Sogeri National High School a top institution in the country.
“We are targeting to take Sogeri to number one place in the country,” Arulappan
said. He said after a few days at the school, his experience of being in and
around the people and environment is fascinating and expressed hope that with
all the support he gets, they can take the school to the next level.
He challenged the students to cooperate with him and he said he did not want to
see them getting expelled over disciplinary reasons like engaging in drugs and
alcohol but uphold discipline and Christian values and morals.
“In PNG, if you provide a conducive learning environment for students, then I believe that
the sky is the limit and I am confident we can do that this year and most of
our students will be selected to tertiary institutions next
year.”
Meanwhile, Kairuku-Hiri MP Peter Isoaimo recently announced continued
support for the school and urged students to aim high and never give up in
their studies and presented K50,000 to the school.
